Arne Bergland

Arne began his ministry in Glendive and Lindsey Montana.  He has also served congregations in Missoula, Mason City Iowa and Spanaway, Washington.  He returns to parish ministry as our Lead Pastor after more than six years as the Director of Church Relations of California Lutheran University.  His wife Susan is an elementary school teacher. Gretë, their oldest daughter, lives in Minneapolis working as a set designer in local theaters.  Their youngest daughter, Ingrid, is a recent college graduate and currently living in Tacoma Washington.  Arne has an undergraduate degree from Augsburg College (Minneapolis) in Theatre Arts.  His Master of Divinity is from Luther Seminary in Saint Paul Minnesota.  His passion these days is helping others discover the many purposes that God has gifted them with and how each of us may live out our faith in all that we do.E-mail Arne


Kendra Wilde

KENDRA WILDE Associate Pastor

Kendra joyfully serves as Associate Pastor preaching the Gospel, presiding in worship, teaching confirmation, and providing pastoral care. She received her Masters of Divinity from Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa and she embraces her identity as fully sinner and Fighting Saint as an alumni of Carroll College in Helena. One of her most persistent prayers is that God will continue to fashion her to be a channel of God’s amazing grace. E-mail Kendra

Rob Stuberg

ROB STUBERG Director of Worship & Arts

Rob is the Director of Worship & Arts, working together with staff, musicians, artists, worship assistants and many other volunteers to plan and lead dynamic and God-honoring worship. Rob grew up Lutheran.  He studied music at Concordia College and worship studies at the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies. He is commissioned as an Associate in Ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. JACKIE BARTZ Director of Youth & Family Ministries

Jackie Bartz

Jackie is the Director of Youth & Family Ministries working together with staff, parents, and volunteers to encourage, equip, mentor and guide youth in their faith journey. She also collaborates with local organizations and resources to help middle and high school youth acquire the tools needed to address current challenges they face in their daily lives and develop leadership skills at The Net, student leadership team, and Safehouse, youth group. Jackie coordinates youth retreats, volunteer opportunities and mission trips as well as assists with Preschool Chapel and Vacation Bible School. Jackie graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN where she studied Spanish, Communications, and Sociology. Previously, she spent three years teaching elementary and middle school Spanish. Jackie feels blessed to get to know youth, encourage them in their faith journey and to witness God’s light and gifts shine uniquely in each individual. E-mail Jackie

Lisa Williams-Mathews

LISA WILLIAMS-MATHEWS Director of Children’s Ministries

Lisa is the Director of Children’s Ministries coordinating programming and volunteers to educate 3-year-olds through 5th graders about God and the mission of His church. The Children’s Ministries program works closely with families to form faith in young people through Sunday School, Kidz Ed, Vacation Bible School, Kidz Time and other congregational-based ministries. Lisa graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and previously spent 11 years working as a teacher and administrator at Head Start.  Lisa’s passion is working with youth in their journey to adulthood. Sarah Magee

SARAH MAGEE Director of Facilities & Finance

Sarah is responsible for administering the finances and managing the property of our congregation. She works closely with the Ministry Team, Church Council, Treasurer, Facilities & Grounds Team, and the Finance Committee to manage the property, budget, financial affairs and business planning for our ministries. Sarah received her undergraduate degree in Accounting from San Diego State University and has worked in the Accounting field for more than 20 years. Sarah is a Helena native and has been a member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church for about nine years. She has served on the Rejoice Team, been a WOW guide, a member of the audit committee and helped with the construction accounting for the new facility. Sarah is grateful to be able to serve our church and its members in this capacity, and she enjoys working with the members and ministry team to expand our ministries throughout our community and beyond. Lori Walter

LORI WALTER Administrative Assistant

Lori works closely with the ministry team to communicate with the members, manage our church records, and provide a warm reception to our visitors.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Montana State University. Over the last several years Lori has spent her time in many endeavors, such as working as a substitute teacher, coordinating after school childcare, being a stay-at-home mom and providing administrative assistance to a local business. Lori is excited to see how God works through her in order to expand His ministry and desires to aid the members of our congregation in their journeys as well. E-mail Lori

Linda Keim


Linda works with staff, choir members, soloists, and the Director of Worship & Arts in helping lead worship via organ and piano.  She grew up in Nebraska and attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, later graduating from Eastern Montana College in Billings, MT with a Bachelor of Science in Organ and Voice.  Linda has served as church musician for many different denominations in Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Washington State, Alabama, Texas, and Montana.  She enjoys helping worshipers glorify God by enriching their worship experience with her music. Joy Novota

JOY NOVOTA Wedding Coordinator

Joy works closely with the bridal couple to plan weddings within a Christian setting. Joy coordinates the service, and she can suggest a wide variety of possibilities to be considered including music, caterers, photographers, themes, decorations, rentals and more. As a life-long Lutheran, Joy has been a member of Our Redeemer’s for over 30 years.  She enjoys serving in the role of event organizer and has organized multiple events in the Helena community such as concerts, jazz festivals, fundraisers, and conference. Wendy Vukonich

WENDY VUKONICH Preschool Teacher

Wendy serves as the Pre-Kindergarten teacher. She gives the older children in the preschool an opportunity to experience the joy of having learning success in a Christian environment. Wendy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Montana State University.  She has been teaching Kindergarten and Preschool for over 20 years in California and Montana. It is a delight for her when the children understand the A-B-C’s and 1-2-3’s that are taught to them. However, the greatest thrills are when she knows God is smiling on her students as they show that they can walk the talk of Jesus, naturally give of themselves, and show love, kindness, and respect to others. Mary Robertson

MARY ROBERTSON Co-Director & Preschool Teacher

Mary teaches the 4 year-old classes.  Each day at preschool students are provided opportunities to experience growth in cognitive, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual areas. We learn through play, all in a warm and inviting, Christian setting. Mary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Studies from Montana State University-Billings, and has worked in educational settings ranging from preschool to middle school. She is excited to see what God has planned for the children at Our Redeemer’s and looks forward to using our new facility as an instrument to share God’s love. E-mail Mary


Audra Shropshire

AUDRA SHROPSHIRE Preschool Teacher
Audra teaches preschool. Each day she has the privilege of watching her students become life long learners who love to explore and play together. Audra holds a bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Geography from the University Of Wisconsin.  She has a Masters in Educational Administration from Loyola University in Chicago.   She has taught many grades from preschool to 8th grade.  She loves teaching preschoolers to engage in imaginary play, show love and kindness to others and and connect with the world around them and to God who loves them.   E-mail Audra


Trudy Burke


TRUDY BURKE Co-Director & Preschool Teacher

As one of Our Redeemer’s Pre-Kindergarten teachers, Trudy has the privilege of working with energetic, enthusiastic 4 and 5 year olds.   Trudy holds degrees in History, Political Science and Elementary Education from the University of Montana and has teaching experience with all early childhood levels from age 3 through second grade.   Her goal as a teacher is to help students develop a strong  foundation of knowledge and skills that they can build on in Kindergarten and beyond.  Her greatest joy comes from watching kids make connections; to the world around them, to other people and to the God who loves them.
