Timeline in Search for Associate Pastor
May 2007 - Rev. Travis Norton resigns his position as Associate Pastor to accept a
call to serve Community in Christ Lutheran Church, ELCA, in Cornelius, North
Carolina.
June 17, 2007 - Farewell Fellowship Sunday for Pastor Norton.
June 2007 - Associate Pastor Call Committee elected by the members of the Church
Council. Call Committee members include: Sandy Merdinger (chairperson), Colleen Grass,
Karen Duncan, Craig Linke, Sharon MacMillan, Jeff Martin, and Pastor Loren
Gustafson (ex-officio).
July 2007 - Call Committee meets with Bishop Jessica Crist for orientation to the
Montana Synod call process. Call Committee begins weekly meetings, Sundays at 7:00 p.m.
July 2007 - Congregational Survey completed.
August 2007 - Congregation Mission Profile completed.
August 2007 - Interview with Pastoral Candidate.
September 2007 - Revision and refinement of Congregation Mission Profile.
October 2007 - Interview with Pastoral Candidate.
Call Committee invites congregation members to submit names of pastors in nomination
for the associate pastor position. Names are forwarded to the synod office to
find out if they might be interested candidates.
January 2008 - Call Committee reconvenes after break for Advent/Christmas
season.
February 2008 - ELCA Seminary Seniors assigned to regions and synods for consideration for
call after graduation.
March 2008 - Call Committee receives names of seminary seniors to consider for the interview process.
