Julie Peck - Christian Education & Preschool
It is my desire that all children will know God as their loving Heavenly Father, a God who is
always with us, loving us and helping us. I care deeply for children and I pray that all children
will know about God's greatest gift, His Son, Jesus Christ, who gives us everlasting life.
More than anything else, God wants us to love Him and to love others, and we strive to model
and to teach these things here at Our Redeemer's, through a variety of children's ministries.
Our weekday Christian preschool provides additional opportunities to experience God's love
through the friends and teachers they will meet. Providing learning experiences through
discovery and play, a strong foundation is established for future happiness and success in
school.
Julie Peck has been a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church since 1975. Formerly an
elementary school teacher, she began serving as Director of Christian Education in July 1996.
Her position expanded when Our Redeemer's Lutheran Preschool opened in September 1999, and
Julie became the director of the preschool. She and her husband Ralph are parents of four
fabulous children and her favorite things include music, camping, and spending time with
family and friends.
Ministry Team Responsibility - The Director of Christian Education, specializes in providing
opportunities for children and their families, to "Love God, Love and serve each other, and
Learn and share God's story". Raising up and supporting volunteers is a key responsibility
of the Director. The Director of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Preschool administers the operations
of the preschool.
Sharon Amor - Congregational Care
"Romans 12: 15 tells us to 'rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.'
In a family, whatever joy or sorrow touches one family member affects all family members. At
Our Redeemer's we are joined together, in our baptism, to be the family of God and God has
called us to care for each other in times of sickness, loneliness and crisis, as well as to
celebrate the joys of life with each other. Here you will see a team of people from the
congregation regularly following that vision by visiting the homebound, making hospital visits,
and providing rides so that those who need help can make it to church. My job is both to
provide pastoral care and also to equip members of this congregation to provide
the same care."
Sharon Amor came to serve at Our Redeemer's in 1998 as the Director of Lay Ministries. She
was commissioned as an Associate in Ministry and called in 2003 to serve the congregation as
the Director of Congregational Care. Sharon has three children and six grandchildren.
Ministry Team Responsibility: To cast a vision for the mission and ministry of the laity
and draw out volunteers to achieve that vision in all areas of congregational life. To provide
caring ministry to the congregation and seek always to unfold the gifts of the laity in serving
Christ through the church and daily life.
Kathy Olson - Youth and Family
So many young people are unable to recognize that their value comes from being a creation
of The Creator. They search for value in the clothes that they wear, the beauty of their face,
the shape of their body, the car that they drive or the grades that they earn. This leaves them
feeling unacceptable, inadequate and lonely. That hurts my heart a lot. Kids are struggling to
figure out so many things: "Who am I? What do I believe? Do people like me? Do I fit in? How
do I meet all of the expectations placed on my life? Why are there so many injustices in the
world? How do I resist the temptations that surround me every day?" I hope that Our Redeemer's
can be a safe place for kids to ask these tough questions and to discover who God created them
to be.
I love teenagers! I have a real passion to watch them grow into the person that God created
them to be. My prayer is that our congregation can surround these young people with love and
acceptance, offer as many opportunities as possible for them to discover and use their gifts and
provide a safe place for them to ask questions.
Kathy Olson has been a member of Our Redeemers since 1964 and has been involved in Sunday
School, choir and youth ministries. She is currently serving as the director of Youth and Family
ministries. When not hanging out with youth, Kathy enjoys camping, stamping, entertaining friends
and spending time with her family.
Ministry Team Responsibility - The Director of Youth and Family Ministries will plan a program to
meet the needs of youth and their families in every aspect of their lives. The director will
develop a style of Christian leadership that ministers to youth by identifying and evoking
their talents and resources, and involving them as fully as possibly in the life of the
congregation."
Dr. Rob Stuberg - Worship & Arts
"It is my desire that each person who participates in worship
at Our Redeemer's would encounter the God who comes to us through the Holy
Spirit as we are gathered in worship, and who comes to be present with us as
we celebrate Holy Communion. It is my hope that our corporate worship would
be more than merely about God, but that we would focus our worship
directly to God. Because worship is the work of the people both
past and present, we use words and music that expresses the heart of the
people in ancient texts and hymns and also in more current language and
music. It is our intent that our worship be user-friendly and that people
can easily enter into our worshiping community of faith."
Dr. Rob Stuberg, AIM,
came to Our Redeemer's in 2000 from Nebraska after careers in music
education and business. Rob received his BA in Music Education from
Concordia College, has an MA in Worship and Theology, and in 2004 was
commissioned and called as an Associate in Ministry in the ELCA. He earned a
doctorate in Worship Studies in 2007 from the Robert E. Webber Institute for
Worship Studies.
Rob and his wife
Carolee have been married since 1981, and have two sons. Chris is studying
music at Concordia College and Josh is a student at Helena High School. When
not making music or writing about worship, Rob enjoys downhill skiing,
bicycling, and golf.
Ministry Team
Responsibility: The Director of Worship and Arts works to plan and direct a
creative ministry of worship, encompassing the use of the fine arts.
Partners in this ministry are the pastors, staff, musicians, technicians,
and volunteer artists who help plan and carry out the ministry. The Director
of Worship and Arts supports the whole worship life of the congregation,
which includes great variety in style, content, and degree of formality.
